Description
[3DRL/2316 Series 10 Map 195] Composite topographical map of the Western Front region between Jeancourt and Joncourt in northern France made up of single sheet topographical map of Villeret, 1:20 000 Field Survey Bn., R.E. (4341), 14.9.18 and part of an unidentified sheet adjacent to the east covering Bellenglise to Joncourt. Shows German trenches, dugouts, wire, centres of activity, gun emplacements and posts.
Overprinted with "Secret! Copy no. 1. Heavy Artillery Barrage Map to accompany H. A. Australian Corps Order No. 161". Shows the heavy artillery barrage lines of fire and territorial objectives for the Australian Corps operation for 68th Bde R.G.A., 5th Bde R.G.A. and 69th Bde R.G.A. Also shows artillery fire zones, targets and times. Target areas are indicated in shapes using red ink, those east of the line marked Zero +320 are lettered A to G from north to south.
Top right corner has 195 stamped in blue ink, the 5 being upside down. Underneath is stamped 195. Mid-corner has in pencil 133 in a circle and below that [3DRL/2316 50/195]. Bottom right corner has 133 in a circle repeated. On rear in pencil at top left is 'about 17.9.18' and at top right is 'about Sept 17 1918.
