Album relating to the service of 3770 Staff Sergeant August Berthold, 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment
Album of 54 pages (one loose page and including inside covers) containing 280 photographs covering his service and also pictures the Amiens Gun in 1921 along with an image of the Emden gun in 1920, both in Sydney, before they came to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
Each page details names, places or events, and is decoratively framed with pen outlines.
Recounts service during the Palestine campaign 1917-1919. The inside cover includes a portrait of Staff Sergeant Berthold and is inscribed "The following photos are an enduring record and memory of my services with the "Anzac Mounted Division" during the Palestine campaign which culminated in the unconditional surrender of German and Turkish Forces in the M.E. October 1918".
