Description
Paul Nash was appointed as a British official war artist in October 1917 and sent to the Ypres Salient. He spent a month completing work in the aftermath of the battle of Passendale and then a further week undertaking work for the Canadian War Records at Vimy, France. This lithograph is a reproduction by the artist of a painting 'The Void' (1918) now in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Canada.
