Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of Major Cedric Errol Meyer Brodziak, 3rd Machine Gun Battalion, France. Collection consist of an original typed sympathy letter, written by Lieutenant Colonel Archibald Clifford Blacklow, Commanding Officer 3rd Maching Gun Battalion, on 1 September 1918. The letter is addressed to Mrs Brodziak, and describes the death of her son on 31 August 1918, just north of Clery, while attending to some of his wounded men. Lt Col Blacklow also describes a previous encounter near Bray and praises Brodziak's endurance and leadership during that time.
