Description
Collection relating to the Vietnam War service of 37530 Sergeant (later Major) William Thomas "Bill" Burton, C Squadron, 1 Armoured Regiment, Coral-Balmoral, 1968-1969.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of a nominal roll, and a supplementary list, of personnel who were posted to the strength of C Squadron, 1 Armoured Regiment in Vietnam between 13 February 1968 and 13 February 1969. The primary roll records the service number, rank and name of all personnel in C Squadron, and identifies in red the personnel deployed to either Fire Support Base (FSB) Coral or Balmoral during the Battle of Coral-Balmoral during May 1968. The supplementary list (attachment 1) identifies the personnel and vehicles of C Squadron headquarters/Administration Troop, 1 Troop, 2 Troop, and 1 Independent Armoured Squadron Workshops and Stores Section deployed to FSB Coral or Balmoral between 21 May to 6 June 1968. The nominal rolls were compiled by Bill Burton in 2018 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Coral-Balmoral and the award of the Unit Citation for Gallantry to members of C Squadron for Operation Thoan Thang.
