Description
Framed studio portrait of 7566 Private William Henry Williams, 15th Battalion. Circular wooden frame is painted with words "HE ANSWERED THE EMPIRES CALL No7566 DCOY" and small Australian and British flags and a map of Australia in 15th Battalion colours.
Williams, a painter from South Lismore, New South Wales, enlisted on 23 February 1917. He embarked for overseas service on board HMAT A20 Hororata on 14 June 1917 and served with the 15th Battalion. He returned to Australia on 18 January 1919.
