420905 Flying Officer (FO) Francis Robert Normoyle of Elizabeth Bay NSW standing in front of a North American Mustang Mk.IA aircraft. FO Normoyle flew operationally with 268 (Army Co-operation) Squadron RAF and was also attached to 35 (Reconnaissance) Wing as an Operations Officer. The photograph was taken at airfield B.61 St. Denijs Westrem in Belgium. The aircraft behind him is a Mustang possibly serial FD474 with code 'K' of 268 Squadron; an oblique reconnaissance camera can be seen projecting from the left rear section of the cockpit canopy.
