Photograph of mine washed ashore in England, labelled 'Hitler to Brighton'.
Collection relating to 26885 Sergeant Bartholomew William Simon. A South Australian electrician in civilian life, Simon enlisted in the RAAF on 25 June 1940. He qualified as a wireless operator and air gunner, serving as air crew on Sunderland flying boats over Europe with 10 Squadron, RAAF. Simon was awarded a Mention in Despatches in 1944. He was discharged on 2 May 1946.
