Identified, left to right: back row, 6599 Lance Corporal James 'Jim' Purdon (killed in France, 22 August 1918); Dick Beale of Childers, Qld; 6601 Private Harland Philipson (killed in Belgium, 27 December 1917); 4569 Private Arthur Winson. Front row: W Price of Brisbane, Qld (possibly 6599 Lewis Arthur Price); 6597 Private Ernest Harry Perrett; 6538 Private Ernest John Golden; 6566 Private Sidney Thomas Layfield. A tailor by trade, Pte Layfield was born in Gympie, Qld, and enlisted at the age of 21 on 6 October 2016 at Rockhampton, Queensland.
