Collection related to the service of 82 Company Sergeant Major Archie King, 56th Australian Infantry Battalion
Description
A group of German infantry soldiers and officers reclining and sitting in the rubble of a ruined building. Inscribed on the bricks is "Flandern 1918 7/7". Relating to the collection of 82 Company Sergeant Major Archie King, 56th Australian Infantry Battalion. King briefly served with the 3rd Cyclist Company, before being transferred to the 54th Battalion. He served with them until October 1918 when the unit was disbanded and merged with 56th Battalion to become 56/54th Battalion.
