Group photograph of four Australian soldiers, in Beirut. Two of the soldiers are identified as VX22388 Private Thomas Francis Doolan, 2/14th Australian Infantry Battalion (on the left), VX47486 Sergeant Thomas James Peel, 2/23 Australian Infantry Battalion (unidentified position).
The image was sent to Mrs Mary Peel, mother of Sergeant Peel, by Pte Doolan. Pte Doolan was killed in action, in Papua, on 30 August 1942. He was 27 years old.
