Description
Portrait of VX50592 Private Peter Geoffrey Sheppard, 2/21 Australian Infantry Battalion, Second World War. The unit colour patch of the 2/21st Btn has been painted within a decorative shield in the top right corner of the image. Private Sheppard was a member of Gull Force and died of the illness beri-beri on 18 July 1945 while he was a prisoner of war on Ambon. His mother commissioned this portrait of him after his death.
