Collection of photographs relating to the service of QX21908 Private Clark Davis Ivins
Collection of photographs relating to the service of QX21908 Private (Pte) Clark Davis Ivins, 2/12th Infantry Battalion. A painter prior to enlisting on 1 July 1941, he embarked from Sydney on 1 November 1941 for the Middle East. Pte Clark was in Milne Bay when he was hit by an explosive bullet from a Japanese sniper, on 1 September 1942. He was evacuated to a hospital ship and then transported back to Brisbane. He died from his wounds on 5 April 1943. He was 24 years old.
Images in this collection include family members, group photographs of the 9/49th Battalion (Stanley Regiment) and group photographs of the 2/12th Infantry Battalion prior to embarkation.
