Description
A map with colour on linen titled 'Reference Trench Map - Ploegsteert' covering the town of Ploegsteert, including the River Douvre. Scale 1:5,000, dated 15-5-1917. The map features roads, trenches, rivers, boundaries and various buildings. It is colour coded in blue, green, pink, purple and yellow but does not include a legend for what the colours indicate. The markings include 'E Bn', 'HdQrs and 1 Coy', 'Seaforth Fm', 'Brigade Boundary', and various combinations of letters and numbers, such as 'A/1'. Other significant numbers are '107', '3DRL2316[50/82]' and '82'. Handwritten on the back is 'Plan.E; 15-5-17; See [Miscell?] file dated 15/5/17'. Messines - Disposition for Assembly & Attack 9th Bde.
