Description
Studio portrait of 2837 Private Vincent Wallis, 32nd Battalion. A miner from Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Wallis enlisted on 10 August 1915. Following training, he embarked for overseas service on board HMAT A38 Ulysses on 2 November 1915. Wallis was taken on strength to the 28th Battalion, before transfer to the 51st Battalion and then the 32nd Battalion. He was reported missing during the Battle of Fromelles in July 1916 and declared killed in action at a Court of Inquiry held on 12 August 1917.
