Khost, Afghanistan. 1992-03-31. Major (Retired) J. Gregson posing with some of the local population at Khost. Gregson was ex-UK Army working with the Halo Trust out of Kabul. He was killed by a mine detonator some months later while demining near Kabul. The weapons were all captured and available for sale. There were a number of women and girls in the town (being repopulated after capture by the Mujahideen) but all were too shy to be seen or photographed because of Muslim beliefs.
