Markeboy, Somalia. 1993-03-18. An emaciated child, grandson of a Somali woman named Mirow, sits beside the brush wall of a dwelling. Food (a high protein porridge) is about to be distributed by an aid worker. The children's mother had died leaving Mirow to carry them in stages over two weeks to the Catholic Relief Agency feeding point as they were too weak to walk.
