1914! Le Roi des Braves devant l"Histoire
Description
French propaganda print No. 7 in the series '1914!' featuring illustrations by Maurice Neumont. Titled the "The King of the Brave before history" it depicts Albert I king of Belgium present at the moment he is written into history in 1914. The King apologises for presenting himself covered in dust to which the goddess replies you are not covered in dust, sire, you are covered in glory. Albert had refused to give the German Army safe passage through Belgium so that they could attack France in 1914. The print is dedicated to His Majesty Albert I, his soldiers and the good Belgium people.
