Group portait of Australian soldiers of the 2/3 Machine Gun Battalion. Identified is NX79549 Private (Pte) Richard Norman Minogue, 2/3 Machine Gun Battalion (extreme right). An assistant dupress operator prior to enlistment on 20 December 1941, he embarked from Cairns on 10 December 1944. Pte Minogue was killed in action in New Guinea on 31 May 1945. He was 22 years old.
