Souvenir, 76 Quota HMAT Aeneas
Description
A hand-drawn souvenir decorated with silhouettes of England and Australia infilled with the Union Jack and Australian Red Ensign respectively. Across the flags are written "Good-bye England" and "Hello! Australia". Also shown are decorations of a rose, a sprig of wattle, the Rising Sun Badge, and an illustration of a ship. Includes the writing "76 Quota Homeward bound on HMAT Aeneas Xmas 1919". The souvenir includes signatures of others aboard the HMAT AENEAS at the time. This souvenir is associated with the First World War service of Staff Sergeant John Ashton Elliott, Australian Army Ordnance Corps.
