Studio portrait of 319 Private (Pte) Walter Warwick Fraser, 14th Australian Infantry Battalion. A blacksmith’s striker prior to enlisting on 10 Sept 1914, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses (A38) on 22 December 1914. Pte Fraser was killed in action, near Courtney’s Post in Gallipoli, on 1 May 1915. He was 19 years old.
