Description
Somalia. 1993-03-26. Snipers from 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), preparing to go on an early morning field exercise. The soldier standing is wearing long headgear made of natural coloured hessian and cloth strips. This is part of camouflage known as a Yowi suit. In the background are armoured personnel carriers (APCs) of B Squadron, 3/4 Cavalry regiment. They are serving with the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).
