Description
Somalia. 1993-03-26. Snipers from 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), preparing to go on an early morning field exercise. The soldier on the right is applying camouflage makeup. The soldier in the centre is adjusting his long headgear made of natural coloured hessian and cloth strips. His camouflage is known as a Yowi suit. They are serving with the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).
