Description
Somalia. 1993-03-26. A sniper from 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), preparing to go on an early morning field exercise. He wears makeup on his face and, on his upper body, camouflage of natural coloured materials such as hessian and cloth strips. On the ground beside him is his headgear. This is part of what is known as a Yowi suit. He is serving with the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).
