Description
Somalia. 1993-03-26. A sniper from 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), on an early morning field exercise, lying concealed among thorn bushes. He is wearing long headgear made of natural materials such as hessian and cloth strips. This is part of what is known as a Yowi suit. Note the gloves which have only the index finger cut out, and the camouflaged rifle. He is serving with the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).
