Description
Somalia. 1993-03-26. Snipers from 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), preparing to go on an early morning field exercise. One who has already applied his camouflage makeup is rousing from sleep a companion wrapped in a blanket on the ground. Behind them are armoured personnel carriers (APCs) of B Squadron, 3/4 Cavalry Regiment. They are serving with the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).
