Informal group portrait of Australian servicemen. Identified front row, centre is 8756 Sergeant Alfred Samuel Brabham MM, 4th Field Artillery Brigade. Photograph was attached to a letter sent from Sgt Brabham to his father, written on a cereal box.
An engineer from Kent Town, South Australia, Sgt Brabham enlisted on 6 September 1915. He was Mention in Dispatches and was awarded a Military Medal for his service on the Western Front. Sgt Brabham returned to Australia on 16 March 1918.
