Description

Menu from Australian Engineers Annual Corps dinner held on 18 June 1915. This dinner was held at Gallipoli to mark the completion of the construction of 'Watson's Pier.

The date chosen, 18 June 1915, was also the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. After the First World War, the engineers continued to conduct a dinner for all officers on the Friday closest to the Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. It is now know as the 'Waterloo dinner'. This copy was purchased from the artist GTM Roach by the Memorial.
