Description
Lid from an insulated double wall steel hot food container. The lid is kidney shaped and has divets in the four sides to fit rods that secure the lid to the container using butterfly screws.
History / Summary
Lid from an insulated food container damaged by a German shell at the Villers Line trench near Villers-Bretonneux on 8 July 1918. The impact damaged the container and the lid no longer sits flat on the container.
