AKM 63 Assault Rifle : Somalia
Hungarian adaptation of the Kalashnikov AKM assault rifle with a light grey polypropylene butt stock, a synthetic pistol grip and stamped steel foregrip. A second pistol grip is fitted to the steel fore stock. Receiver cover is plain un-corrugated. Gas vent holes on gas tube are not present. The weapon has a corrugated 30 round steel magazine. Rear sling attachment is on butt stock. Fore sling attachment point is on the fore stock band.
The Kalashinikov assault rifle design was manufactured in numerous Soviet bloc countries. This Hungarian example shows a number of mall design changes, made to increase operability and decrease weight. The weapon was captured in Somalia.
