Heckler & Koch G3 Rifle
Description
Heckler & Koch G3 select fire main battle rifle. The rifle has a pressed steel receiver and a folding left side cocking lever. It has a wooden butt , drilled fore end and a green plastic pistol grip. The sling swivels are a front ring on the fore sight band and a fixed bar in the left side of the butt. The safety change lever is marked 'S' 'E' and 'F'. Complete with a detachable 20 round magazine stamped 'G3 P.O1 10/77'. The sling is made in two parts of blue and red striped cotton strap.
History / Summary
This rifle was confiscated by 1 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment in 1993 while serving in Somalia as part of the United Nations peacekeeping contingent, UNOSOM.
