Feed bag : Australian Light Horse
Description
Reinforced canvas bag which has a web strap sewn on to one side of the neck. Around the neck are two cloth loops and a web loop opposite the strap. There are also six small metal eyelets on one side of the neck opening. Marked on the side in black ink "AA" broad arrow "OD" above a "V". Also marked in indelible pencil "6" and on the inside "BA" and "60" in a circle.
History / Summary
Feed bag carried by members of the Australian Light Horse for use in feeding their horse,s and by all units employing horses for both mounted or driven work. This example was made in Victoria for the Australian Army Ordnance Corps in the 1930s.
