Wesel, Germany. 1945-04-05. Rubble and ruin in the town after heavy and concentrated bombing by British heavies as a prelude to the opening of the cross-Rhine offensive 1945-03-24. After the bombing, in which RAAF bomber aircraft took part, commandos occupied the town. The town no longer exists. There is not one habitable dwelling in it now.
