Interview with Jack Crawley (When the war came to Australia)
Description
Mr Jack Crawley is shown wearing a gas mask and helmet while he gives the traditional Boy Scout salute. Mr Crawley was a school boy and member of the Boy Scouts during the war. He worked as a bicycle messenger with the National Emergency Services (NES), attached to the Leichhardt division. He recounts an accident he had while delivering a message during a blackout. He mentions rationing - food, clothing and petrol. He then adds that he was in charge of a scout troop when he was sixteen.
