Description

Mrs Malcolm reminisces about her young husband who was an airman, serving with the 'Suicide Squadron', Coastal Command in England. He was killed six months into his posting. She had to support herself and her daughter, while trying to keep the memory of her husband alive for her daughter. She describes leisure pastimes of the period: balls, music, radio, gramophones and records, playing tennis, fishing. She discusses her view of the war: not allowing aggression, but such a waste of life.
