Description

Mrs Boddington's husband worked for Gold Mines of Kalgoorlie, which supplied electricity to run mine engines. He was in a protected occupation. She describes Kalgoorlie during the period- wide streets, hot, dusty, water supplies, rainfall. She mentions the pipeline from Perth- travelling 400 miles. Mrs Boddington mentions rationing, air raid shelters, religion. She describes John Curtin as Prime Minister. She comments on the mines established at the time:Western Mining Co, BHP, BHP North End.
