Description
Ondangwa, Namibia, 1990-03-04. General view of the military base with its main entrance in the centre. The base, originally built by and for the South African Defence Force, was used by the United Nations Transition Assistance Group (UNTAG) in Namibia, including for a time elements of 17 Construction Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE). The perimeter of the base is protected by strands of barbed wire. In the centre, the blue United Nations (UN) flag flies over the base.
