Northern Iraq. 1991-06. Major (Maj) Jon Hodge of the Australian Service Contingent, Operation Habitat (Australia's contribution to the multinational response known as Operation Provide Comfort). Maj Hodge wears his white doctor's coat, possibly on the occasion of a cricket 'test' between Australian and British members of Operation Provide Comfort. The Contingent provided humanitarian aid to Kurdish refugees fleeing Iraqi forces in the wake of the Gulf War.
