Description

Samrong district, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, 1993. Typical terrain in which land mines and minefields were laid in Cambodia in the time of the Khmer Rouge regime. As a demonstration, a mine is visible in the centre of the picture. At this time, Mine Clearance Training Units (MCTUs) serving with the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) were running courses in mine identification, minefield marking and mine clearance for the local people.
