Kure, Japan. 1948-01-09. Lieutenant Colonel S. J. Greville, Commanding Officer BCOF Signals Regiment, responds to a toast that was given by Brigadier R. G. H. Irving, OBE, Commanding British Commonwealth Base, at a reunion dinner held at BCOF Signals Other Ranks Mess in commemoration of a dual event on 1940-01-09: the arrival in the Middle East of the Advance Party of the 2nd AIF and the departure from Sydney of the 1st Convoy of 6 Division.
