Photographs relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Stanislaus Acton Nunan, No.1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, Egypt, Palestine and Syria, c.1917-1918.

Collection contains 42 photographs, studio portraits and souvenir picture postcards relating to the military service of Lieutenant Stanislaus Acton Nunan. Some of the photographs were taken by Lieutenant Nunan, an amateur photographer, while sightseeing on recreational leave in Jaffa, Alexandria, Damascus, and Cairo. Other photographs relate to his service in the field with No.1 Squadron, AFC, as a pilot and include informal portraits with himself and his forward observers. Collection also includes several souvenir pictures featuring portraits of Turkish officers, local Egyptians, and Laurence of Arabia.
