The dawn of Anzac Day (Sunday. 25th April, 1915)
Description
This Lithograph is the key to the painting 'The Dawn of Anzac Day' by Herbert Hellier (ART09581). The scene depicted is the morning of the Gallipoli Landing as seen from the sea, and within the work the artist has carefully noted each of the parts of the scene, including the ships in the foreground, the points of interest along the coastline, and even the plane in the sky in the centre of the composition. This work can be used to gain insight into the finished painting.
