Studio portrait of 266 Private (Pte) Albert Card, 11th Australian Machine Gun Company, and an unidentified soldier (on the left). A labourer prior to enlisting on 14 February 1916, he embarked from Melbourne aboard the RMS Orontes on 16 August 1916. Pte Card was killed in action, in Belgium, on 20 September 1917. He was 21 years old.
