London, England. 1945-09-15. The final United Nations swimming carnival was held at Marshall Street Baths. Flight Sergeant Arthur Beard, RAAF, of Dee Why, NSW, was the winner of the 100 yards championship of the United Nations in 55 3/5 (the second fastest time ever put up at Marshall Street Baths) and was congratulated by Stedman (Southern Counties of England champion), who was second. In the centre is Warrant Officer Holt, RAF, who was third.
