Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of 161140 Leading Aircraftman William James Walker, 1 Personnel Depot, Melbourne, c 1945.
Wallet 1 of 1 consists of one incomplete letter from Leading Aircraftman Walker to his family. In the letter he writes about methods of contacting him when he leaves Australia, and the likelihood of leaving Australia before Christmas, though the year is undated. The collection also contains a RAAF card of Notification of First Overseas Address sent to his mother, Mrs J Walker, and a typewritten newsletter from Padre Fred McKay dated 15 June 1945. The newsletter is written from Northern Italy, and writes about the excitement of the Australians coming home following the Allied victory in Europe.
