H.H. Stewart (left) introduces to the BBC microphone Australians visiting two of their cobbers in a London hospital. Those taking part in the “Anzacs Calling Home” programme are (right to left) 400052 Sergeant (later Flying Officer) Thomas Packer Duffy of Nhill, Vic; 5022 Leading Aircraftman Maxwell George Duggan of Lindisfarne, Tasmania (died of illness in Hobart Tasmania on 04 June 1943); the sister in charge of the two patients and 408076 Sergeant (later Flying Officer) Thomas Drayton Simpson of Hobart, Tasmania. Leaning forward is 406089 Pilot Officer (later Flight Lieutenant [Flt Lt]) Roderick Roland Ferry of Cranbrook, WA, and on his right, 401183 Sergeant (Sgt) Alfred Leslie Augustinus of Melbourne, Vic (accidentally killed in the Middle East on 18 November 1942). Both Flt Lt Ferry and Sgt Augustinus were members of the RAAF.
