London, England. 1942-10-14. The BBC recorded two hundred children at the London County Council School, Droop Street, Paddington, singing "Waltzing Matilda" for their pen friends of the Junior Technical School, Paddington, Sydney, NSW. The audience included members of the Australian Forces who sent greetings home during the "Anzacs Calling Home" broadcast. On the right is Sub Lieutenant Mick Brown, Royal Australian Naval Volunteer Reserve, of Claremont, WA. On the left (squatting) is 488 Squadron Leader John Manford DFC of Perth, WA.
