Description

An M113A1 Armoured Personnel Carrier, (APC), call sign three two alpha (32A) of A Squadron, 3 Cavalry Regiment, Royal Australian Armoured Corps (RAAC), moving through dense bush in the Long Green in the south of Phuoc Tuy Province. Identified, left, is the vehicle commander, Corporal G (Jock) Thompson, and at right the driver, 3790395 Trooper (Tpr) Robert James (Bob) Gillard. Tpr Gillard was later killed when the APC ran over a mine. The APC has been fitted with a Type 74C turret, armed with twin .30 calibre L3A3 Browning medium machine guns.
