402148 Flying Officer Rodney Bainbridge Archer DFC of No. 42 Squadron RAF with his fiancee, Section Officer April Eve Wilson, a Cypher Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. Archer's Beaufort aircraft, AW383, was seen to blow up in an attack on the German Battleship Prinz Eugen on 17 May 1942. His body was not recovered.
