RAF Station, Drem, Scotland. 1942-12-22. The BBC visits the No. 453 (Spitfire) Squadron RAAF Christmas party and broadcasts the proceedings to Australia. The Station Commander, Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Cyril Gadney, the famous English rugby football referee, proposes the toast of the Squadron. On his right are 405111 Sqn Ldr J. R. Ratten of Hobart, Tas, the Commanding Officer of the Squadron, and 3218 Sqn Ldr Tart, Public Relations Officer of the RAAF.
